Subsurface-scattering

Sub-surface-scattering is basically a light transmission going through a surface. Light bouncing inside the surface, exiting in a different location than where it entered. Depending on the surface type and thickness of the surface, the visibility will either increase or decrease.


  • The CryENGINE supports different approximations depending on shaders, respectively in vegetation and skin.
