Rim Lighting
Rim Lighting simulates light reflection at sharp angles, meaning that it enhances visualization of silhouette shapes, separating surface (making it more visible) from the background.

The CryENGINE supports this feature in the skin shader and it's texture based, meaning that we are able to mask-out which pixels you want with rim.
Notes
- Rim color comes from diffuse color and light diffuse color.
- You can mask out rim highlights, by setting the gloss map on the alpha channel of diffuse texture.
- Check HumanSkin Shader for description on rim lighting paramters.
